Numbers and ratios
Percentage, fractions, GCD/LCM and scale sit together on the numbers and ratios hub (Dutch: Getallen en verhoudingen). Pick a tool below, or start from the hub if you are unsure which sum you have.
Numbers and ratios
Chooser hub: which tool for %, fractions, GCD/LCM or map scale 1:n.
Percentage calculator
Percent of a number, part of a whole, and percent change, with the two school formulas.
Fraction calculator
Add, subtract, multiply, divide or simplify fractions, with common denominators and GCD.
GCD and LCM calculator
Greatest common divisor and least common multiple with Euclid steps (Dutch: GGD and KGV).
Scale calculator
Map ↔ real ↔ find n for scale 1:n, with the same units on both sides.
Algebra
Linear equations, 2×2 systems and the quadratic formula sit on the algebra hub. Start from the hub if you are unsure which equation type you have.
Algebra
Chooser hub: linear, systems of two equations, or quadratic formula.
Linear equation solver
Solve ax + b = c or ax + b = cx + d with the balance method and edge cases.
Systems of equations
Two linear equations with two unknowns: one pair, none, or infinitely many.
Quadratic formula calculator
Solve ax² + bx + c = 0. Discriminant first, then both roots when they are real.
Exponential growth calculator
N = B · gᵗ, growth factor from a percentage, doubling time or half-life.
Derivative calculator
Power rule, slope at a point and the equation of the tangent line.
Geometry
Length, plane and solid sit on the geometry hub (Dutch: Meetkunde). Start from the hub if you are unsure which tool fits the sum.
Geometry
Chooser hub: Pythagoras, area, cylinder, or cube/sphere/cone volume.
Pythagorean theorem calculator
Missing hypotenuse or leg: a² + b² = c², with steps and impossible-triangle checks.
SOHCAHTOA calculator
A side or an angle of a right triangle with sine, cosine and tangent, in degrees.
Area calculator
Rectangle, triangle and circle in cm² — not volume.
Cylinder volume calculator
V = π r² h only. Cube, sphere and cone are on the volume calculator.
Volume calculator
Cube, sphere and cone in cm³ — no cylinder mode here.
Statistics
Center and spread sit on the statistics hub (Dutch: Statistiek). Start from the hub if you are unsure which tool fits the sum.
Statistics
Chooser hub: mean/median/mode for the center, or σ vs s for spread.
Mean calculator
Mean, median and mode of a list, with steps — not standard deviation.
Standard deviation calculator
Population σ or sample s — not the mean alone.
Normal distribution calculator
Rules of thumb: percentage between bounds, bounds of 68% and 95%, σ from a percentage.
Other calculators
Online calculator
+ − × ÷ with order of operations. 12 + 8 × 2 is 28, not 40.
Scientific calculator
Sin, cos, tan, √, log, ln and π — degrees by default, not a Casio clone.
Graphing calculator
Plot f(x) in a window, with a table of points — not exam-aids rules.
Division with remainder
Integer quotient and remainder — not decimal division on the online calculator.
Simulations: Parabola · Linear function · Pythagoras · SOHCAHTOA
Practice by topic: Percentage · Fraction · Quadratic formula · Linear equation · Pythagoras · SOHCAHTOA · Exponential growth · Derivatives · Mean · Normal distribution
How a page works
Enter the numbers. The calculator shows the formula, the substitution, and the arithmetic. A bare number without steps is not the product. Examples on each page use their own figures; they are not a Dutch exam paper in English clothes.
Numbers use a decimal point (1,000.5). A comma as a decimal is still accepted as input.
Dutch school material
vmbo, havo, vwo and BTW examples live on the Dutch site. English pages here do not retarget that keyword set. School guides (Dutch: Gidsen) start at the guides index — including which calculator for the exam and math A vs B.
Frequently asked questions
Is Wiskundehulp free?
Yes. Every calculator is free to use, and there is no account to create.
Which levels does it cover?
Dutch secondary school: vmbo, havo and vwo. Pick your level in the worksheet at the top of this page to see an example at that level.
Can I type a decimal comma?
Yes. The English pages show a decimal point (1,000.5), but a comma as a decimal is still accepted as input.
Why is 12 + 8 × 2 equal to 28, not 40?
Multiplication comes before addition: 8 × 2 = 16, then 12 + 16 = 28. Adding first, (12 + 8) × 2, gives 40. The online calculator follows the same order and shows each step.
Are these pages a translation of the Dutch site?
No. The English pages are written separately for English search. The Dutch vmbo, havo and vwo examples stay on the Dutch site.
